Groups

In an addition to a number of regular opportunities -- Adult Forum, Bowlling, Women of Spirit, Quilters, and more -- we also feature occasional groups.

Augustana Quilters

Quilters is an opportunity to provide service by putting together quilts for Lutheran World Relief and Lutheran Family Services. A regular meeting date is the third Tuesday of the month at 9 AM, August through May. Midmorning we stop for coffee and treats and a prayer service for strength and healing. Members also regularly sew, tie quilts, cut squares, and press fabric pieces between sessions. If you would like to visit to check us out feel free to do so. The assembling and pinning are not difficult and we “tie” rather than “quilt” so it’s not complicated. Please think of us when you are cleaning out your linen closets as we use sheets and lightweight blankets - even the stained and the thinner ones as they can go in the middle. We also welcome donations of washable fabric and thread.

Katie's Circle of Friends

Meets at 1 PM on the second Tuesday of the month from September through June, usually in the Lehr Library but occasionally at the home of a member for a Bible study. We use the study from the Women of the ELCA’s Gather magazine.

Bowling

The Bowling Team is a small group comprised of both Augustana members and non-members. We use this time each week for some good old-fashioned competition with other men and women in the community and fellowship. You do not have to be a great bowler. We meet at Maplewood Lanes on Monday nights at 6:30 pm. Come to cheer on the team or join us!

Women's Breakfast Group

This informal group meets on the second Wednesday of each month at 9 AM at the Village Inn at 7837 Dodge Street. Of course it's no problem to stay until 10 AM when the "free piece of pie every Wednesday" begins!
